Ages 8 to 10
Hip hop with a routine that grows
This class goes deeper into the grooves and footwork that hip hop starts from. Over a session the class builds one routine, adding a section each week, and everyone gets a turn at the front of the room.
Ages 8 to 10
An hour, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
Classes of up to 10
Taught by Rahsaan Breaux and Alecia Batres

What a class is like
- 01
Step 1: Warm-up and grooves
A warm-up to music, then the basic grooves, run until they feel like our own.
- 02
Step 2: Footwork
Steps with the feet, broken into counts, slow first and then up to speed.
- 03
Step 3: The routine
A new section each week, added to what the class already knows.
- 04
Step 4: Turns at the front
Each dancer leads the line for a few counts. Nobody is put on the spot, and passing is fine.
