Questions families ask

How do I try a class?

Pick a class from the schedule that suits your dancer's age and book a trial class on the registration page. A trial class is a regular class with the teacher watching how it fits.

Which class is right for my child?

Start with the age on the schedule. If your dancer is between two groups, the teacher will suggest one after a trial class, and moving up later is easy.

What should my dancer wear?

Clothes that move, and clean sneakers that stay in the studio. Jazz dancers need jazz shoes, or bare feet to start. Hair is up and off the face.

Do I need to stay?

Families of dancers ages 5 to 7 wait in the lobby, which has a window onto Studio A. Older dancers join the class on their own, and families may wait in the lobby or come back at the end.

May I watch a class?

Yes. Every session has a watch week, when families come into the studio and watch their dancer's class from the floor.

Why a showcase night instead of a recital?

We chose it on purpose. A showcase night is held in the studio, every class shares one routine, and dancers wear their own class clothes, so there are no costumes to order and no hall to rent.

What are the extras?

Showcase night has one small charge, and jazz dancers buy jazz shoes. We don't order costumes and we don't enter competitions. Each extra is named, with what it is for.

What if we miss a class?

Message the studio and we will tell you how to make it up in another class of the same age group, within the same session.

How does tuition work?

It depends on the class, the age group and how many classes a week a dancer takes. The registration page has our figures.

How are photos handled?

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
